II International Forum on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting in The Gambia

This 2018 has a good start for the team of Wassu Foundation and its research center, Wassu Gambia Kafo (WGK), who organize the II International Forum on FGM/C in The Gambia. The meeting, which will take place on February 5th and 6th on the occasion of the International Day of Zero Tolerance with Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, will be held in Banjul and has the support of the European Union, the Government of the Republic of The Gambia, the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

There will be seven thematic panels divided into both days, in which international experts will address the issue of FGM/C from applied research to knowledge transfer, health, religion, justice, field work experiences, experiences of young Gambian women and the situation of FGM in diaspora.
