17 professionals trained of the Jahally Health Centre in Central River Region (The Gambia)

17 health professionals working in the Jahally Health Centre, on the Central River Region (The Gambia) were trained by Wassu Gambia Kafo over the health hazards that FGM/C poses over the bodies of women and children, the management of its complications and the sociocultural dimension of the phenomenon. Also, they were introduced to the “Initiation without mutilation” alternative rite of passage. The activity was an opportunity to try new group dynamics with the aim of improving the training process and the involvement of the health professionals on the prevention of FGM/C.
