Wassu Foundation co-organizes and participates in the “International Seminar on sociocultural and legal aspects of
Female Genital Mutilation: Transnational Experiences of prevention and protection” in Madrid

Together with the Gender Equality Observatory of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Wassu Foundation has organized the International Seminar that will take place in Madrid the 3rd and the 4th of February. It constitutes the first of the four international seminars organized within the project “Multisectoral Academic Programme to Prevent and Combat FGM/C” co-funded by the European Union. Adriana Kaplan (Director of Wassu Foundation), Nora Salas (the Coordinator) and Aina Mangas (member of IGPS/HTP research group, and pre-doctoral researcher) will participate on the panel “Anthropological approach of FGM” and “Public policies on prevention and protection in Spain”. The other panels of the Seminar will be on: the launch of the Multisectoral Training Guide on FGM/C produced within the project, the public policies on prevention in Europe and Africa, legal aspects of prevention and feminist approaches on FGM/C.
