The objective of this training was to increase the capacity of the TBAs to identify the different types of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) before, during and after the delivery, as well as manage the complications that this practice causes. The training acquires a preventive nature when completed with the promotion of the alternative rite of passage “Initiation without cutting”. The trainings were also an opportunity to continue gathering information over the local practice and dynamics of FGM/C.
