Adriana Kaplan receive the Memorial Lluís Companys for her social action work
Although not pursued as an aim, the awards are an important acknowledgment of the goals achieved thanks to the work carried out daily by various entities and individuals. During May, the Josep Irla Foundation highlighted the path and work of Dr. Adriana Kaplan, Professor of the Department of Social Anthropology of UAB and director of the Wassu-UAB Foundation.
On this occasion, the Memorial has been granted to Dr. Kaplan in the individual modality, for her social action work in the fight against gender violence, focused on the prevention and eradication of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). The award was delivered on May 19th during the Nit Irla.
With the Lluís Companys Memorial, the foundation highlights the work of Catalan generations who strive to build a more just society in a free nation, promoting spaces for analysis, reflection and debate, at the service of the Catalan Countries.
